New Career Day and Developer Showcase at NG20
Nordic Game introduces Career Day, an exciting new career development program and recruitment expo on the last day of the NG20 conference, Friday 29 May.
Nordic Game also expands the annual exhibition of new games from talented studios around the world in the Developer Showcase on Career Day at NG20.
NG20 Career Day
Career Day on Friday, 29 May will address several pressing challenges facing the games industry, including staff shortages at both new and established studios, game development education in a constantly evolving industry, newly graduated developers seeking employment or to start their own studios and established professionals looking to enhance their game development skills.
The Career Day program will include talks on a wide range of professional development, recruitment and entrepreneurship topics from educators, industry experts, HR professionals, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the games industry.
The Career Day expo will feature game studios, recruitment agencies, educational institutions, software providers, regional support organisations and others seeking talented potential, new and established game developers.
In conjunction with the expo, Nordic Game partner MeetToMatch will provide Career Day online matchmaking services especially designed to allow exhibitors and participants to conveniently book private meetings during the event.
NG20 Developer Showcase
Beyond expanding the available exhibition space for studios in the Developer Showcase, Nordic Game will also present a new People’s Choice Award to the game and developer voted best by attendees in the final wrap-up session at NG20.
Career Day and the Developer Showcase on Friday, 29 May will be open to all NG20 pass holders. Special MeetToMatch registration will be offered to NG20 pass holders looking to book meetings during Career Day.

NGDC Finals & Finalist Expo flashback
Sixteen games by very talented teams from across Europe qualified for Season III’s Nordic Game Discovery Contest Finals at NG19.
From last 22-23 May, the NGDC Finalist Expo was where the qualifier winners competed for a spot in the NGDC Final Four. Over two days, a secret panel of judges visited the finalist booths, with the exhibitors tasked to convince them (and visiting NG19 attendees) that their game was best.
All NG19 attendees also received a NGDC Finalist Expo ballot when they picked up their conference badge, with the most popular title receiving the NGDC Season III People’s Choice Award last Friday, 24 May during the final wrap-up session of NG19.
NG19 speaker program flashback
The conference speaker program last 24 May was also packed with talks about great games, including the opening by Nomada Studio co-founder Adrian Cuevas, who talked about the creativity behind the stunningly beautiful GRIS, as well as the “Same Game, Different Music” panel, where a group of veteran composers each shared their scores for the lucky game chosen in our contest last year. Just a two examples of the packed NG19 program on Discovery Day!
NG19 After Hours flashback
When all the talks were done, it was time to chill – and play the Discovery Day titles one might have missed. From 17:00-20:00, there were games, hang at the bar, snacks and a fond farewell (until next year) 🙂
