Funky Friday

Welcome to the twentieth edition of Nordic Game, Europe’s leading games conference and the only event in the world with a dedicated focus on the entire Nordic industry.

Funky Friday

Friday, 5 November is a very special day. Not just because it’s a Friday, and the final day of Nordic Game’s fall show, wrapping with an in-person after-party (RSVP ASAP) in the heart of Copenhagen.

It’s extra-special because it’s Funky Friday! Nordic Game has teamed up with gaming broadcast specialists Pixel.tv to create an extra-ordinary, live streamed program of celebration and entertainment, tailor-made for the NG21 Autumn audience as well as Pixel.tv’s many gaming fans.

Hosted by Jacob Riis, composer, sound designer, voice actor and singer Thor Myrdal, @VRUnicorns @FlatPonies Julie Heyde and legendary (also stunningly photogenic) Pixel.tv founder Thomas Bense, Nordic Game’s Funky Friday will be broadcast live from the Astralis esports team’s headquarters in central Copenhagen.

Let’s get right to a few Funky Friday highlights:

Great talks!
Meet Antony Johnston, the writer of Resident Evil Village, learn how A Plague Tale was created from game director Kevin Choteau and dive into the insider perspectives on Alan Wake Remastered of Thomas Puha and award-winning composer Petri Alanko from Finnish Remedy Entertainment. And should you have something to confess (don’t we all?), join Nordic Game favorite Ste Curran for True Confessions 3.0.

True Confessions 3.0

Fantastic guests!
Before we can all meet again in-person at NG22 Spring on 17-20 May at Slagthuset in Malmö, we’re jump-starting the Nordic Game vibe with Funky Friday guests dropping by live in the studio.

Meet some of the best and craziest developers from Denmark, team-up with lead players from Astralis, and basically expect the unexpected – just who might make an unannounced cameo appearance in the studio on Funky Friday? 😉

Stellar Grand Finals!
The jewel in the crown (raisin in the sausage?) of Funky Friday will of course be the fifth season Grand Finals of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest.

From 300 talented developers beginning last December, we’ll have narrowed the playing field down to 12 incredible finalists as NG21 Autumn kicks-off next week. Come Funky Friday, and just three of them will be left to battle live for the season’s NGDC Game of the Year crown and championship prizes.

There’ll be much, much more – surprises galore – so be sure to tune-in next Friday, 5 November, as the Nordic Game groove gets funky 😀
